Bodypump class at Gold's.
Bodypump class = sweat+soreness.
Crazy exercise of the class: Take a step from step class go into plank with your toes on the step and your forearms on the floor, and hold the pose. Walk forearms forward 2-3 "steps" and hold, walk forearms back. Hold pose again. Repeat three times. 5 hours later I still have sore abs.

Day 1 back from vacation July 5th.
Well thank goodness I had a great break, because I sure paid for it today! Oooffff! Stuck to the diet as best I could, a little tougher when you're away from home, but not as bad as I thought it would be. The exercise however, was lacking the intensity I get at the gym. I did my best, but obviously not hard enough. Rough session today with the Master Trainer! Patrick Ocheni at Gold's Gym in Rockville. Awesome motivator.

Hole E Crap! That was a tough session with my guy. Wow did he kick my butt and then some. Spin class too. Tuesday's are killer. Need to eat, fuel up the machine. Hasta luego, amigos.

Tuesday, June 28th Nervousness
Getting ready to head to the gym for week 2's weigh in. I'd be lying if I didn't admit I was a little nervous. Feel good though. Solid week behind me. A few more calories than last week, but I needed the energy. Was feeling like crap. We'll see if I struck a good balance.

Really feeling like I am getting into a rhythm. In to the gym, warm up with some cardio, hit the weights, cool down with some more cardio, shower and home. Sneak a class in there every now and then. Easy right? Yikes, tired and sore in a good way though. Eating much better, esier and easier to watch what goes in. Half the battle. Better decisions. It's what it's all about.

Saturday, June 25th
Good time today at the gym. Had to stay focused as I had limited time. I managed to get it all in, even squeezed in a few extra sets. Working out before work definitely not as good as after. Well, you gotta do what you gotta do, right? Today was good food day. Cutting out bad food makes eating the right number of calories harder I think. Weird huh? No more take-out, fried stuff, high carb/bad carb. Getting a lot of calories from protein and low carb stuff is no so easy. Positive results though! Personal moment of pride: No soda in 2 weeks! Not one drop. Nice...

Friday, June 24th
A day off from work, but I was very productive running errands, getting my hair cut and, oh yeah, working out! Really good day today. Gym calm in the middle of the day. No one waiting for the machine I am using. Good quality time. I doubled up my sets on my work out today too. Felt really good. Hope it keeps being this fun and challenging. Had a nice healthy dinner over to a friend's house, something I had been thinking was going to be a mistake, but she made very healthy boneless skinless grilled chicken breast and grilled eggplant, zucchini and summer squash. Delicious! I passed on the garlic bread. Victory is mine! Well, a small one at least. Keep watching what goes into the machine.

Theme for today: TIRED
For some reason, not enough calories on Wednesday, not enough sleep, whatever it was, I was beat all day. Felt a little better after lunch and managed to get some workout time in. It is interesting as I progress how I feel a little more "in tune" with my body. It is a very cool thing.

Wednesday June 22nd
Wow, tough day today... sore from my monster session with Patrick yesterday. Today was good, some Cardio and Legs/shoulders. I love that some people at Gold's say hello to me. Not the employees, but the regular folk that are there to work out too. Two people said to me today, "Saw your picture in the paper. Good luck!"

My trainer is trying to kill me
In an effort to not die prematurely on my own, I knowingly have entered into a relationship with another human being who is highly trained in the dark arts of exercise and fitness. Who is trying to kill me. His name is Patrick and is a very nice human being, right up until we walk out onto the gym floor for our hour long weekly session. Patrick is convinced that my body can do things I know it can't. That is his job after all. Little did I know that he would actually be right. I can do thing faster, longer and with heavier weight than I would have possibly imagined. Again, his job. And he knows his job very well.
Week 1 weigh in
Today is our first weigh in after our initial weigh in last week. Very nervous, but I feel good. Definitely making progress... more later.
